IMPART
The Intelligent Mobility Partnership – Midlands Competence Centre of Excellence (IMPART) is a partnership between Loughborough University (LU), Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½), Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and Coventry University (CU). The partnership will bring together a strong mix of research expertise in core areas of intelligent mobility (IM) and therefore give the Transport Systems Catapult (TSC) access to world-class research and academics in the field. Each university in the partnership brings strengths that are complementary to each other both in research and their involvement in collaborations, industrial and SME engagement activities, international reputation and networks.
Vision
Our vision of Intelligent Mobility is that it is not a new version of transport infrastructure but it is a service that places the traveller at the heart of the mobility process and seeks to implement measures that provide the greatest choice and efficiency of travel. There are a variety of definitions but the Automotive Council offers the following objectives:
- To increase mobility, improve safety, and
- Enhance user benefits whilst simultaneously
- Reducing pollution, consumption, and congestion
