International Year Zero (IYZ)
Get the perfect start to your degree at Â鶹´«Ã½ with the International Year Zero (IYZ). You will take an extra year of study at Â鶹´«Ã½IC in order to complete your degree at Â鶹´«Ã½. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at Â鶹´«Ã½.

Pharmacy
There is huge demand for pharmacists all around the world and qualified pharmacists have a variety of exciting and challenging career choices in the industry – for example, they can work alongside family doctors, in busy hospitals or pursue medicines research.
Â鶹´«Ã½ has invested millions in facilities so you will have access to the very latest laboratory equipment. Our pharmacy school is home to world-leading academics who are conducting life-changing research.
Â鶹´«Ã½'s School of Pharmacy has been producing talented pharmacy graduates for more than 100 years. Once you complete the IYZ, you can continue with your degree of choice in this exciting area.
Once you progress to the MPharm you will need to complete your enhanced DBS application. All Year Zero and IYZ MPharm students will need to complete a self-declaration by end of teaching week 3 after enrolment, and self-declaration completed by end of teaching week 1 in years 2 to 4 at the latest. Failure to engage with this process will result in a review of your continued registration, the normal outcome of which will be discontinuation of your registration from the YZ or IYZ MPharm programme. For international students a certificate of good conduct from your home country is required in lieu of a DBS check.

Entry requirements
English language
To be considered for a place at Â鶹´«Ã½IC you need to meet our standard of English Language requirements. Our courses require an IELTS of 5.5 or equivalent, with a minimum of 5.5 in every component. Our IYZ Pharmacy course requires an IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent, with a minimum of 6.0 in every component.
If you do not meet these English Language requirements, we can offer you a pre-sessional English course to be studied immediately before you enter the first/second stage of your chosen programme:
- If you have an IELTS 5.5 (with any component below 5.5), you will be offered a six week pre-sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the programme.
- If you have IELTS 5.0 (with no component below 4.5), you will be offered a six week pre-sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the programme.
- If you have IELTS 4.5 (with no component below 4.0), you will be offered a twelve week pre-Sessional English course immediately preceding your entry to the programme.
